Free Lab Environment for SQL Server 2008 R2

Posted by decipherinfosys on March 6, 2010

A recent question from a reader was that he was having a tough time convincing his management about moving over the SQL Server 2008 and he was concerned that when the decision is made, it will be too late for him to build up his skills through hands-on practice and he will be asked to deliver the results within timelines that won’t allow him to explore the features and make a judicious decision about the changes that need to happen.

If you are in a similar situation, you can take advantage of signing up for a free account at:

Dell, MaximumASP and PASS have parternered to bring us a free environment where we can try SQL Server 2008 R2 in a secure hosted online lab environment.  What could be a better way to pick up the new feature sets without effecting anything in your environment?  You can practice and evaluate the features without any cost to your employers.
