Gartner Report on Oracle RAC

One of the key differentiators between Oracle and other RDBMS has been their RAC (Real Application Clusters) feature.  In order to take proper advantage of Oracle RAC though, one needs to understand it’s internal workings properly prior to jumping on the bandwagon.  Not every application will scale with RAC – one needs to make appropriate changes to the configuration, setup and also applications in order to take advantage of it.  Some of our clients are running Oracle 10g and 11g on RAC very successfully.  Here is an article by Gartner on Oracle RAC’s move into the mainstream:
