An important Fix: KB 967169

Posted by decipherinfosys on March 3, 2009

Got hit by this bug in SQL Server – the client had an update trigger that joined the internal tables (Deleted and Inserted) and when an update statement was being fired, it was taking a very long time.  You can read more on this KB article here.  If you are on SQL Server 2005 + SP2 and before Cumulative Update #12, you can face the same issue.  The client is still testing SP3 so rolling that out is still a week out but it is good to know that this is a known issue and a fix already exists for it.
